For most of my adult life, I thought I was ticking all the right boxes.
I married my high school sweetheart.
Studied nursing.
Became a mum of three.
From the outside, everything looked like it was on track — the marriage, the kids, the career.
But behind the scenes, it was a very different story. Nursing was slowly taking everything from me, my energy, my health, my identity.
Despite working in healthcare, I was running myself into the ground.
The burnout, the stress, the emotional load… it was all too much. And trying to juggle all of that with three young kids? I completely lost sight of who I was.
One night, after a long shift, I was sitting at home a few glasses of wine in when my two-year-old daughter walked up to me and asked,
"Where are you, Mummy?"
And it stopped me in my tracks.
I’d become so checked out… I was dissociating. I didn’t even realize how low I’d gotten — but she did.
Right then and there, I made a promise: to find myself again, to heal, and to take my life back before it was too late.
And today….
My life looks completely different.
I wake up each morning feeling energized, healthy, and alive, I'm no longer dragging myself through the day, but genuinely excited for what lies ahead.
I live a values-led life now, guided by what truly matters to me, not just what’s expected.
I care for myself daily mind, body, and spirit and I no longer feel guilty for putting my wellbeing first.
I'm present and connected with my husband and children in a way I never imagined possible back then.
I’ve even fallen back in love with nursing but on my terms.
These days, I combine my years of clinical experience with my passion for coaching, mentoring, and helping other nurses reclaim their joy, energy, and purpose.
Life feels so great AND it’s deeply fulfilling; I’m finally living it on my own terms.
